CALLY TOURNEY RULEBOOK!

  • Equipment REQUIRED to play is Shin Guards, Hockey Pants, Elbow Pads, Helmet, Gloves, and Skates.

  • Shoulder Pads are not required, but highly recommended (play at your own risk.)

  • It is HIGHLY recommended that players wear a visor/cage, but not required. (Play at your own risk.)

  • All players are REQUIRED to check in before every game.

  • Staff may ask for ID to confirm players.

  • All players are REQUIRED to fill out the tournament waiver.

  • If a player fails to check in or have a waiver signed, the team will automatically forfeit the game that the player participated in.

  • If a non rostered player plays in a game, the team will automatically forfeit that game.

  • Rosters are to be submitted by the date Cally Tourneys requires you to have them submitted.

  • NO Roster changes are allowed unless conducted by the staff after the due date.

  • All games will have a 3 minute warmup.

  • All games will have 3 14 minute periods with stoppage time.

  • All Round Robin games will have a 5 minute running clock OT 3v3. If both teams fail to score, the game will end in a tie.

  • Championship/Elimination Games will be 5v5 for 10 minutes Stoppage Time.  If both teams fail to score, a 3 man shootout will take place.

  • If a team leads by 5 or more goals in the 3rd period, we will have a running clock.

  • If the team cuts the lead inside 5 goals, the stoppage clock will come back.

  • Each team is provided 1 30 second timeout in preliminary play and playoffs.

  • Intermissions will be 1 minute.

  • Minor Penalties will be 2:00 and Majors are 5:00, with Misconducts being 10:00.

  • • All games will be under standard USA Hockey Rules (Note-we are NOT with USA Hockey)

  • Blue Line Icing will be used in all games.

  • ALL Major Penalties will result in a game misconduct.

  • Any Game Ejection or Game Misconduct will be reviewed by the staff to see if further discipline will be needed.

  • The entire point of Cally Tourneys is to create a safe and fair tournament environment for all tiers playing.

  • If Staff finds a “ringer” or “sandbagger” in any division, the player will be removed from the tournament without refund.  This is NON-NEGOTIABLE.

  • Tier skill levels are listed as follows

  • Tier 1-Advanced Division-Players who have years of experience at a high level, listed as a High B/Low A level.  Many players consist of playing in Pros, Semi-Pros, Juniors, NCAA D1, etc.

  • Tier 2-Intermediate Division-Players who have played hockey their whole lives.  Many players consist of ACHA and High School level.

  • Tier 3-Novice Division-This is made up of guys who have played before, listed as a Mid/Upper C level.  Many players consist of high school, or PeeWee/Bantam level, or no experience in youth.

  • Tier 4-Beginner-This is made up of guys who have either only been skating for a short time, or never before at all.  This is a low C/D division.  

  • While all Tiers will be carefully evaluated for Sandbaggers/Ringers, Tiers 3 and 4 will be overlooked a little heavier for any players who are too good.
